New Lamborghini at showroom in Mumbai
Lamborghini
has opened its first showroom in Mumbai yesterday. The Italian supercar
maker has appointed Autohangar as its dealer in Mumbai to boost its
presence in the financial capital of the country. Autohangar is also
the largest Mercedes dealer in the city. The showroom is located at
Prabadhevi. Until now, Lamborghini sold its cars in India through a
sole distributor, Delhi & based Exclusive Motors, which will
continue to serve customers in North India; Autohangar will look after
the Western region of India.
Lamborghini is also planning to set up its own National Sales Company
(NSC) in India, especially since its parent, the VW Group, has
established a strong presence in India & can effectively support the
group’s brands. Porsche, which was acquired by the VW Group in 2010,
will also have its own NSC in India under the VW umbrella.
Lamborghini has given a special allocation to India of 8 & 10
Aventadors & there is already a queue of Indian buyers who are
willing to get behind the wheel of this 700bhp supercar. The Italian
supercar maker expects to sell about 40 & 50 cars by 2015 & is
banking big on the new Urus SUV for the Indian market.
